Hello, I'm really enjoying your kit, but found a bug from [002] Damage Calc Refactor.rb.

I'm sorry guys but I'm not the best at scripting and I'm trying to resolve this bug. Im using several Deluxe Battle Kit plugins and my issue is when I catch a wild pokemon the game crashes and I get this error message. It doesn't crash the game, but it does happen every time I attack, which gets very annoying. I also compared all the script sections mention here with a fresh copy of Pokemon Essentials, and they are exactly the same, but it works in the fresh copy.
It doesn't look like this is related to DBK, tbh.

It's been a while since this was mentioned, but I thought it would be good to bring it up here.
Some time ago, someone mentioned that Sun and Rain were not correctly modifying Fire/Water type moves.
It turns out it was a = instead of == on "Damage Calc Refactor". Wrigty helped find the solution.

I just installed DBK and it's working good so far but the Mega Animation is not working, it's just doing the quick-change one, despite it being set to true. I have Gen 9 Animation Project. Is that conflicting with it?

Probably. Just delete any existing Mega animations added by the pack.

Yeah, I found the solution by simply renaming the CommonAnimation:MegaAnimation in the Debug menu as MegaAnimationOld. Same with the Primal Reversions. Didn't need to delete anything. Works now. Appreciate the help. 😁
 
Is there an easy way to do 3v3 battles with 2 partner trainers with DBK? In vanilla Essentials I've tried to accomplish this by duplicating code to register a partner and updating the battle code to check for the second partner, but the second partner doesn't show up. I'm hoping DBK will make this easier to accomplish.

You cant have 2 partners in Essentials. DBK doesnt touch or edit this in any way. Having two partners could fundamentally soft lock the game due to how targeting works in triples, anyway. So youd have to account for that if you insist on rewriting all of the battle code to allow for another partner.

this error is from Gen 9 actually, and Caruban is aware of said bug, but when Caruban will release a patch to fix it is uknown

Oh ok thank but that dose suck it makes her hard to test alot of stuff since as soon as the leader are beaten it crashes

Hey, I encountered a crash in

[006] Z-A Battle Function.rb
: Exception ArgumentError at 015:Validation:29 - Invalid argument passed to method. Expected 10500.0 to be a Integer, but got Float.


The issue is that tMoney can become a float, which the money= setter rejects.

I fixed it by adding .to_i in two places:

Line 204:
pbPlayer.money += tMoney.to_i
Line 217:
pbPlayer.money += @field.effects[PBEffects::PayDay].to_i



you have to Open the 006 ZA Battle Function rb and edit the lines 204 and 217 then it will work again.

v1.3 Update

  • Fixed a damage calc bug related to Water moves and weather.
  • Made various tweaks to Mega Evolution so that a Pokémon's moveset can change upon Mega Evolution, as shown with Mega Zygarde in Legends ZA.
  • Made changes to allow for better integration with the Enhanced Battle UI plugin.
  • Fixed the repeat_random_# midbattle trigger from triggering with an incorrect frequency.

its the Gen 9 that is bugged, i'm "almost" sure that DBK have nothing to do with money earned from battle

you can remove the Canari Gold plushies from your inventory to avoid it, for the time being I believe until a patch is given. If that doesn't work for you, feel free to reach out on discord and I can ship you the bandaid patch I applied to my own game to correct it. This isn't related directly to DBK in any way, however.
