Since I posted this, we've added some new features to the game. This includes:

  • Can press Z on the main battle screen to view information about the battle, pokemon stat changes and other status effects
  • Can have multiple save files, save siles now saved in a folder within the game install
  • Added more music, most should loop properly (tell us about issues)
  • Shiver Dance, new Ice type setup move, distributed to some physical ice types
  • Added new abilities Blizz Boxer, Sudden Chill, Desert Spirit

among others tweaks and bugfixes!

Project Chasm is now on version 1.2.0!

New Features
  • Avatars may now use Primeval Moves during battle at the time at which they go below half health. These moves are powerful moves which change their typing, their moveset, and make the rest of the battle more challenging!
  • The starter store was reworked into three unique rooms (for nuzlocking purposes). Each trade now also requires a “Token” of the proper type. E.g. you must trade in a Fire Token which you’ve found out in the world to get Charmander. Otherwise, the cost has been reduced from 5k to 3k.
  • Added the “Universal Formalizer” item, available at the tail end of some new content past the river in the river route. Allows you to arbitrarily swap the forms of mechanically-relevant multi-form Pokemon (e.g. Rotom) outside of battle.
  • Added Damage Numbers to battles, which display whenever a Pokemon is hit by an attack or the repeating damage of certain DoT effects.
  • Can search dex by “exact type” and by comparisons between the pokemons two stats (e.g. Atk > Sp. Atk)
  • Different distributions of style values now get a unique name on the style values distribution UI

New Moves and Abilities
  • New ability “Impervious” (Immune to crits and defense/sp. Def drops) replaces Battle Armor/Shell Armor/Big Pecks on many pokemon
  • Added two new debuffing moves across a ton of Pokemon: Dazzle (Special Growl), Smirk (Special Leer). Also wrangled the distribution of Confide, which is now +1 priority, making it the special variant of Baby-Doll Eyes.
  • Added “Store Fuel” to many fire and poison types. Setup move which raises Sp. Atk, Sp. Def, and accuracy.
  • Added new abilities “Harsh” (crits against burned targets), “Tough” (takes half damage from fighting and rock moves), “Headstrong” (Doubled defense in Psychic Terrain), and Quick Thinking (Doubled speed in Psychic Terrain)
  • New ability “Candy Veil” replaces Sweet Veil (Self and allies immune to Sleep and Chill). “Fae Veil” replaces “Pastel Veil” (Self and allies immune to Poison and Burn).
  • New ability “Frustrate” added, which debuffs enemies speed on the user entering. (Like Intimidate)
  • New ability “Energetic” replaces Limber, it prevents the pokemon from being paralyzed, chilled, or having its speed stat stage reduced.
  • New ability “Armor Piercing” added. “Doubles move power against targets with raised defenses.
  • New signature abilities “Territorial” and “Deterrent” for Spearow and Pidove lines, respectively.
  • The ability “Specialist” replaced by the ability “Expertise”: “Super effective damage increased by 30%.”
  • New move “Dream Absorb” replaces Dream Eater. Can hit against non-sleeping targets, just deals half as much.

The rest of our changelog can be found here.

1.3.0 is finally up and available for download! This patch is the largest patch we've dropped since the alpha has gone public, and we hope you enjoy the first of our post-surf content -- Prizca West and the Battle Plaza. You can find these places north of the County Park, past the river. Expect new quests, battles, available Pokémon, and a new Gym. These areas accompany a slew of new features such as Hot Streaks, the PokEstate, and the Traits Expansion.

New Features/Content
  • Reworked the Eleig River Crossing, adding content north of the river. That leads into Prizca West and the Battle Plaza, two new maps full of content, including the fifth gym!
  • Added the PokEstate, a series of maps accessible from your PC. The PokEstate is where the Pokemon you store in your PC are hanging out. Each box gets its own map, whose terrain is based on the background chosen for that box (e.g. the volcano background is a volcano). While visiting the Estate, you can withdraw, deposit, or interact with your Pokemon. You can access the Estate either from the main storage menu, or by clicking on the top bar of a given PC box.
  • Added Makyan Sentret and Makyan Furret regional forms to the game. The Sentret is available in the Shipping Lane where regular Sentret used to be (regular Sentret is now available through a trade in Nemeth)
  • Hot Streaks added: Pokemon get 30% more battle experience after going at least 2 battles (trainer or avatar) in which they participated but did not faint. A new icon on the Pokemon summary screen shows if a Pokemon is on a hot streak. Forfeiting a battle will reset the streaks of your entire party.
  • Added Likes and Dislikes. When a Pokemon achieves maximum happiness, it will unlock a purely aesthetic listing of something it likes and something it dislikes on the same screen as traits are shown on the Pokemon summary
  • Added a new track as the BGM for Casaba Villa, composed by Zufaix.

Major Tweaks
  • Reworked Casaba Villa and the routes to the north of it to make them loop around satisfyingly and simplify them. There’s a new set of encounters available in Casaba Villa after said loop.
  • Many maps now have birds flying above the map at random intervals to add ambience
  • Screenshots are now actually saved into the Save Games folder as the game says they are
  • The Item Storage box and Mailbox storages are no longer accessible. When you interact with a PC, it immediately boots you into Pokemon Storage
  • Pokemon Storage now has 40 boxes rather than 30
  • When you caught or are given a new Pokemon while you have a full party, instead of it always being sent to the PC, you have the option to send one of your current party members back instead
  • A bunch of evolution items are now available by using the surfboard on maps which were already accessible before getting the surfboard
  • Lainie no longer gives out evolution items when you beat her.
  • Added dozens of new possible Personality Traits for your Pokemon to have
  • Replaced the placeholder sprites for Lambert, Helena, Rafael, Vincent, and Lucile with better (but still placeholder) sprites
  • The gym theme BGM now loops properly
  • Added a phone call with Zain which triggers in Nemeth, and another one at the County Park
  • Trainer battle experience reduced by 10% (Now 1.8x compared to wild battles)

New Moves and Abilities
  • Added the Bad Luck ability which draws in all status-category moves if you don’t suffer from a status effect. Distributed to Pachirisu and Furfrou.
  • Added the Brooding ability which gives the Pokemon +5% to Attack,Sp. Attack, Defense, Sp. Def, and Speed for each other Dragon-type Pokemon on the team. Distributed to Druddigon.
  • Added the Soul Read ability which makes the pokemon deal 50% extra damage to targets whose last move used didn’t match with one of their types. Distributed to Makyan Sentret and Makyan Furret.
You can view all of these changes and more in detail in our 1.3 changelog.

1.3.1 is now available for download. This patch should save game compatible with 1.3.0. 1.3.1 is primarily a bugfix patch, though we also have a UI update courtesy of lichenprincess and a Tangle update to the courtesy of dtp81390. As always with save compatible patches, please make sure that your game is saved inside a Pokémon Center before moving your save game. Our full change log is included below.

1.3.1 change log
  • Many UI sprites replaced by new work by lichenprincess. The most exciting part is the new battle UI elements!
  • Reworked the Eleig river crossing a small bit. Most importantly, the Terrakion fight now required to progress.
  • Aquatopia Menagerie is now open in Prizca West
  • Added new contributors to the in-game credits
  • Made some balance updates and fixes to the leaf stone and dawn stone quests
  • Moved around some starter store token locations in the overworld
  • Trainers in the LuxTech battle labs give bigger (correct) candies
  • Fixed Brooding ability which was causing crashing in the Sun Cave quest
  • Added follower sprites for Gigachu, Nibelong, and Lapnessie
  • Small tweaks to battle plaza. Primarily, making some fights no longer trivially skippable.
  • Fixed some issues with the first encounter with zain
  • A bunch of new item icon sprites have been added, courtesy of Persephone
  • Fixed some bugs with the Nervebreak move and status effect
  • Removed information and search about deprecated Zoo mechanic from Dex, replaced with info and search about wild held items
  • Cooltrainer's no longer give candy when merely beaten not perfected
  • Added lots of in-battle dialogue for Zain
  • The Tangle map tweaked by dtp
  • Circuit cave now accessible from canal desert
  • The Genesect avatar fight no longer requires spending a dynamite stick, but rather access to rock climb

I'm excited to say that the 1.4 update has now been released! 1.4 introduces a ton of new content: two new routes, a replacement to Paralysis, new story content, new side content, new Pokémon, and the other half of Prizca! Prizca East contains a new Gym, this one featuring Ice and Psychic Pokémon.

New Features/World Content
  • Added the Tarot Amulet, an item given to you during the Casaba tutorials. It’s an item that you can toggle on or off between fights. When you enter singles gym fights or certain required story fights while it is active, it gives the enemy a full team and afflicts you with a fight-unique “Curse” which makes the fight harder in some way.
  • Added Prizca East and Prizca Castle, two maps to the east of the Battle Plaza (and east of Prizca West, of course). This includes the 6th gym as well as a variety of new shops and other content. It also includes a way to upgrade your DexNav so that the pokemon you find from searches already have one of their tutor moves learned.
  • Added a secret route only accessible after getting the surfboard. Find it for yourself!
  • Added the Tangle Dungeon, a puzzle and level-40 battles map south of the Tangle jungle. Designed and mapped by dtp.
  • Paralysis has been completely replaced by the Numbed condition. While numbed, a pokemon’s speed is halved and it gets no benefit from any positive stat stages it has.
  • Added the Eleig Stretch, a mostly wilderness route connecting the Eleig River Crossing to the Canal Desert
  • A new piece of storyline content is available after getting your fourth badge! Completing that content is now the way you get the surfboard, which lets you surf.

Major Tweaks
  • There is no longer ever a random chance to be unable to run from wild battles
  • You no longer receive messages every time EXP is added to the EXP-Ez Dispenser, but rather get a total of the amount added that battle at the end of a battle.
  • When exiting from the pokedex, if you have an active search, you may store that search instead of removing it, so that it will still be active next time you go back to the dex (this persists even when quitting and restarting the game).
  • Removed the encounter with Yezera in Casaba Villa, added a new encounter with her in the Shipping Lane.
  • The Bicycle is no longer sold, but rather just given to you, in eastern Nemeth.
  • A new “Bicycle” button has been added to the controls. If you have the bike, pressing the button while not moving either gets on or off the bike.
  • Added a purchasable Alolan Meowth at the Nemeth Mart (where the bike purchase used to be.)
  • The icon to the Aid Kit now shows how many charges you have left. It also will alert you, after using a charge, whether your team is now fully healed.
  • Reworked Deerling line so that each form has a completely unique typing, stat arrangement, and learnset.
  • When you send back a pokemon to the PC so as to allow a new catch to be in your party, a prompt allows you to take their held item before they are sent.
  • Added a new Carvanha trade to the Mainland Dock

New Battle Content
  • Added “Milliblaze”, an evolution to Centiskorch based on its Gigantamax form. Reworked that lines evo timings and stats to compensate.
  • Added Makyan Seviper, a Steel/Electric variant of Seviper. Now findable on the Eleig Stretch, alongside its nemesis Makyan Zangoose.
  • Added “Power Lock”, “Guard Lock”, “Energy Lock” and “Will Lock”, held items which set a pokemon’s Attack/Defense/Sp. Atk/Sp. Def (respectively) to 95.

Our complete changelog for 1.4 can be found in this doc.

1.4.1 is ready to go, fixing a lot of the bugs we encountered while also adding a bit of content. This patch is save compatible with 1.4.0, just make sure to save your game in a Pokémon Center. Some notable inclusions are new evolutions to Lucario, Copperajah, and Steelix based on their Mega/GMax form. We've also distributed five new abilities and a new protection style move that numbs attackers. We've also rebalanced many Rock-type moves to have higher accuracy.

This patch also includes a new Ace Trainer and Aroma Lady battle sprite courtesy of papper. We thank him for his wonderful contributions. You can check out all these changes and more in our 1.4.1 changelog.

Self bump.

This post is to announce that we're prioritizing recruitment of programmers! We want at least one more programmer that would enjoy working on a wide variety of scripting needs, including new game mechanics, moves, abilities, UI, and bugfixing. If you have any questions for either me or our lead programmer, feel free to join our discord!

We are still looking for Spriters, Artists, Composers, Fight Designers, Graphic Designers, and Playtesters.

1.5.3 is now here and available! We've skipped from 1.4.1 to 1.5.3, so don't worry about 1.5-1.5.2. They don't exist, and are very, very, secret.

New Features
  • Added Avatar Totems around the world near legendary avatar fights. When you black out to these avatar fights you are given the choice to respawn with a fully healed team at the avatar totem, to then try again or run away as you see fit. Once you interact with an avatar totem once, you unlock the ability to teleport to it from any other avatar totem in the game.
    • The theming for these is work in progress, and likely to change.
  • Added Dragon Dens, small secret caves dotted around Makya. Each contains an egg of the first pokemon in a pseudo-legendary Dragon line (i.e Bagon). The Dragon Hatcher can be found somewhere in Makya, who will take these eggs and hatch them for you at no cost.
  • Added Gleam Powder, a rare single use item that will be given out at a few points in future content. Consuming it forces your next wild encounter to be shiny pokemon.
  • Added a rough draft version of the Ocean Fishing Minigame, accessible through an NPC in Aquatopia (a building in Prizca West). Not all of the gameplay is coded in, but the minigame has been made available so that you can access its unique encounters. The minigame is intended to be similar to the Bug Catching Contest from generation 2.

New World Content
  • Added the extensive Prizca Sewers routes underneath all of Prizca. They connect to a few spots around Prizca, as well as to the sewer map underneath LuxTech, which has also gotten new and changed content.
    • We also fixed most of the dumb bugs plaguing that area.
  • Added Frostflow Farms, a route to the west of the Eleig River Crossing. The Ice Cave in Svait has also been reworked a bit so that it exits to the Frostflow Farms map.
  • Added Velenz Menagerie, a map to the west of Velenz. It contains 7 encounter sets, each locked behind a dynamite rock. Many unique species are found only here.
    • The secret grass mechanic has been cut. Most species previously found in secret grass are now in the Menagerie.
    • More dynamite has been distributed throughout the world due to this.

New Battle Content
  • Added Makyan Vulpix (Dark type) and Makyan Ninetales (Dark/Ghost.) with two new custom abilities “Gild” and “Luxury Taste”. Sprites provided by Blue Obelisk.
  • Added Makyan Tangela and Makyan Tangrowth (both Rock/Poison) with new abilities “Petrifying” and “Snake Pit.” Sprites provided by ali760.
  • Added Makyan Sinistea and Makyan Polteageist (both Ice/Ghost) with new ability “Chill Out”. Sprites provided by ali760.
  • Added “Flame Spikes”, the burn equivalent of Poison Spikes. It’s been distributed to many fire types in their level up learnsets, as well as as a TM/mentor move across a variety of fire or other pokemon. The TM for Flame Spikes is found somewhere in the first half of the game.
  • Added “Frost Song”, a unique ability of the Lapras line. It boosts sound based moves by 30% and turns them to Ice type.
  • Added “Gnash”, an early bug type physical move for a couple lines of pokemon to use instead of Slurp. Has a chance to reduce target’s defense.
  • Added “Mountain Crush”, a signature move of the Aron line. 50% accuracy, 200 power, 50% recoil.
  • Added “Multistrike”, a 2-5 random hit physical normal move which many normal type and all skill link Pokemon can learn. An NPC can tutor the move at bluepoint beach.
  • Added “Dropkick”, an 80 BP recoil move for physical fighting types.

1.6.3 is ready to go! This patch features a bit of new content, but we've got a large number of mechanical tweaks that may create a whole new metagame.

First, we've got two new areas to explore, Split Peaks and the Team Chasm HQ. The latter has been placed in Southern Makya, providing a new way to traverse through the region.

A new recurring NPC, Skyler, is now meetable! You can find his first encounter somewhere in Southern Makya.

We've got a few new music tracks added courtesy of Dedrum Sound Design, who has made tracks for the new game cutscene, Prizca East and West, and the first routes in Casaba. We thank him for his contributions.

Now, let's talk about the mechanical changes for this patch. Water has gained a weakness to Poison. This both helps give Poison a bit of help offensively (differentiating it from Bug), and it's a nerf to Water defensively.

Numb has been reworked. Rather than prevent positive stat changes from mattering, it reduces outgoing damage from the Pokemon by 25%. This makes the status generally more useful than its older version, while still remaining as a general anti-sweeper status.

Style values no longer distinguish between Attack and Special Attack. Mixed builds now have the same viability as strictly Attack and Sp. Attack builds! About a dozen lines have been reworked to become truly mixed to accompany this change.

Wild Pokémon no longer give XP when defeated, and many trainers from across the world which were previously required are now optional. This has some larger implications for nuzlockes, so we'd love to hear feedback from those runs.

All these changes and more are detailed in our changelog! https://docs.google.com/document/d/1afDW5RTuXS2zPn0-jgXjQgkBWj7_7OpejeIG2Mkra_U/edit

1.7.0 is ready to go! We've got another good batch of content for you, including our first pieces of post-Climbing Gear content. This patch marks the beginning of the end of the alpha, as we approach a feature complete game.

Split Peaks, Skyward Ascent, Highland Lake, and Sweetrock Harbor are new explorable areas that can be accessed with the Climbing Gear. A whole host of new content (including the 7th Gym!) have been added with these places, and we're excited for y'all to try it out.

We've got some new features as well, such as the "What's Next?" feature, accessible in your Game Info option. This will help you reorient yourself on what to do next at any given time. Avatar fights have also been given a pretty heft rework, featuring revamped AI as well as a larger variety of moves.

Yezera has gotten a makeover courtesy of Jaggedthorn. She's now got entirely custom spritework, and we're excited for design to be in the game. Thanks again for your contribution!

You can view all of these changes and more in the 1.7.0 changelog.

1.8 is now live! Quite a few things have been added this patch.

The 8th Gym is now available! This marks the end of the Makya's Gym Challenge. You'll be able to battle Samorn, a Bug/Dragon specialist.

A ton of graphical improvements have been made. We've brought in the wonderful move and effect animations from Pokemon Reborn, and battles look a lot better! Additionally, we've done a pass over a lot of the early interiors in the game to make them a lot more visually interesting. Lastly, a few edits have been made in some of our larger areas to improve performance.

Charm and Confusion have been replaced with new non-volatile statuses: Flustered and Mystified. After any non-status move, a Pokémon with either of these statuses will hit itself for some damage.

For balance changes, Ice has lost a resistance to Water, but has gained a resistance to Ground. Additionally, all move damage is reduced by 10%.

Trainer AI has received a sizable improvement in swap logic. They're also quite a bit smarter when it comes to sending in better Pokémon when one of their Pokémon faints.

The Berries pocket of the Bag is now the Held Items Pocket. All battle-affecting items which previously were stored in the first pocket should now be stored there.

Lastly, the Burn and Poison Orb can now be used outside of battle to inflict your Pokémon with their relevant statuses. This is a significant QoL for Guts/Audacity users.

You can view all of these changes and more in the 1.8.0 changelog.

1.9 is now live, which is our biggest update yet! Here's a list of changes we've made.
  • Features
    • The caretaker NPC in the PokEstate now gives the player rewards for species collection achievements. For example, collecting 10 species from Generation 1, or 20 Fire-types, or all species of the Wet Walkways.
    • Imported the Essentials v20 map rendering improvements. User’s running AMD graphics cards should have considerably better performance across the game.
  • Content
    • Added the Cave of Hatching and Whitebloom Town, two new lategame maps found north of the Highland Lake. Both require the Climbing Gear to access.
    • Majorly reworked the Gigalith’s Guts
    • Completely reworked The Tangle into the Jungle Path
    • The fourth gym’s cave in Velenz has been moved to a more central location, near the ranger house. However, accessing Rafael’s room now requires you to collect 4 out of the 8 “digit slips” spread across velenz’s houses and caves.
    • Significant tweaks to Grouz, The Shift, and the County Park
    • Embiggened the Wet Walkways and added a bit more content there
    • Completed a huge pass to standardize the properties of avatars across the entire game. Many fights have been redesigned (including a few new Primeval moves). Every fight should have 2 attacks per turn, with an HP multiplier of 4x or close to it. Legendary avatars now have 6x HP mult instead of a 10x mult, but with a 30% resistance to all move damage (less effective HP vs moves compared to before, but HP-based effects are less effective). Most fights that had phases with only one possible move now have two.
    • Cut the avatars of Swalot and Torkoal from the shipping lane. All three orb items are now purchased from a new NPC on the Mainland Dock.
    • Added a new set of NPC interactions around the eighth gym.
    • The 2nd clefable in the avatar fight in the Ancient Meteorite is now a Beheeyem.
    • During the fight against the Absolus in Nemeth Apartments, you are now joined by an allied Absol.
  • Battle Mechanics
    • Chill is removed, and replaced by Frostbite.Frostbite is the counterpart to burn, dealing 1/8th HP damage every turn and reducing the statused Pokemon’s Special Attack by 33%.
      • Added the Frost Orb, mirror of the Flame Orb.
    • Poison status reworked: no longer reduced Sp. Atk, but rather halves the Speed of the bearer.
    • Flustered and Mystified tweaked: Flustered now reduces the bearer’s Defense by 33%. Mystified likewise nerfs Sp. Def. The self-hits from both do a bit less base damage, to compensate.
    • Some avatars can now use primeval damaging attacks every few turns. These attacks take up both of the avatar’s moves for that turn, and are highly damaging with strong effects.
    • During an avatar battle, a crosshair icon now appears over whichever Pokemon that the enemy avatar wants to attack this turn. It will appear red when the enemy avatar wants to use a primeval damaging attack.
  • Abilities
    • Added Frostheal, frostbite variant of burn heal.
    • Added Cold Reception, which grants immunity to ice-type moves and raises attack when hit by one.
      • Coldproof reworked to just grant a 50% Ice-type resistance
    • Added Bitter, which causes the user to deal critical damage against frostbitten targets.
    • Added Stability, which make’s the user immune to Poison, Burn, and Frostbite.
    • Added Puzzling Aura, which sets Puzzle Room on ETB. Replaces Mystic Aura on Elgyem line.
    • Added Dire Diversion, signature ability of Zigzagoon line. Causes the user to hang on with just 1 HP by sacrificing their item if they would otherwise be fainted.
  • Moves
    • Started a major pass on tutor learnsets, aiming to remove options that are highly unlikely to be used (or even thought about) while also adding in early game moves to make the mentor system more relevant earlier. This project will continue multiple patches into the future.
      • E.g. removed Sunny Day, Rain Dance, and Round from hundreds of species.
    • Poison Spikes, Burn Spikes, and Frost Spikes require two layers to apply statuses. When only one layer is active, Pokemon that swap in take damage equal to 1/16th of their max HP. However, this damage only occurs if they could have been statused instead. E.g. a pokemon with Immunity won’t take that damage.
    • Added Frost Spikes, the Frostbite counterpart to Flame Spikes.
    • Added Shiver, a ghost-type variant of Chill (Applies Frostbite).
    • Added Sand Toss and Dustdevil, 40 BP and 65 BP moves respectively which are special Ground-type moves with a chance to burn. Primarily distributed to Pokemon who could already learn Scorching Sands.
    • Added Puzzle Room, a new status which replaces Magic Room. During puzzle room, Pokemon’s Attack and Special Attack stats are swapped.
    • Added Hare Heroics, signature move of the Buneary line. A physical normal-type move, it deals more damage the lower the user’s HP. The user swaps out after damage is dealt.
    • Added Ripturn, signature move of Totodile line. A physical water-type moves which also reduces the target’s defense, then swap’s the user out.
    • Added Volley Stance, signature move of Squirtle line. When used, all special moves by the user (until swapped out) hit twice as many times.
    • Added Thunder Belly, signature move of Gigachu. 200 base power physical electric move. The user takes 100% recoil.
    • Added Core Collapse, signature move of Gothitelle. 120 base power special psychic move. +1 priority, the user take’s 50% recoil.
    • Added Pattern Release, signature move of Meowstic. Physical psychic-type move. When used, the user is locked into the move for the next 2 turns. Each attack can hit between 3 to 5 times total.
    • Added Red-Hot Retreat, signature move of Magcargo. A protect-style move that burns those that hit it when special moves that turn.
    • Added Sand Vortex, which replaces Desert Dance as signature move of Flygon. High base power special ground-type trapping move.
    • Added Vine Maze, signature move of Venusaur. Physical grass-type move which hits both enemies in double battles. Targets have their speed reduced if they already moved that turn.
    • Added Astral Dream, signature move of Makyan Furret. Raises the user’s Defense, Sp. Defense, Attack, Sp. Atk, and Speed. Only usable while asleep.
    • Buffed Rake to 65 BP.
    • Noble Roar now hits all nearby foes.
    • Distributed Ignite to about a dozen Ground-type pokemon lines.
    • Undistributed Chill from about a dozen Flying-type and Water-type pokemon lines.
  • UI/Graphics
    • Battle backs should now be different in the various areas of the game. E.g., battles in forests now show a forest-y background. One custom battleback has been introduced for a special kind of area :)
    • A complete remake of the Town Map. It looks nice now! Courtesy of IgnitedXSoul.
    • Added a Continue button on the main menu, which loads up your most recently modified save.
    • When selecting where to teleport with an avatar totem, you now select totem icons on the town map.
    • Completely remade the Battle Info menu. Both the main screen and the look at an individual battler should now be much earlier to read. The base page lists the turn duration of the current weather or terrain. The status page of an individual battler also now lists the calculated stats after stage modifiers.
    • Where current PP used to be shown when selecting a move, now is shown the expected type effectiveness of that move against the enemy. If there are multiple enemy battlers, it shows the highest among the possible choices. Current and max PP amount has been moved to the toggleable extra move info popup (Default Z)
    • Can press the special keycode (Default D) to “star” a species when hovering over it on the main pokedex screen. Starred species get a little icon, and always appear on top of any unsorted pokedex list.
    • Giganteon now has a more proper overworld sprite.
    • Introduced the Dandy and Female Bugcatcher trainer classes, sprites courtesy of Papper.
    • Adjusted some UI with style points setting to hopefully be more clear
    • Added the Performance Analyzer item to the player’s starting bag. Its purpose is to show off how the player receives 20% more EXP from trainer battles compared to canon. It can also be upgraded somewhere in the game!
    • Tweaked the Play Rough/Eager Tickling animation to be about half as long.
    • The villainous figures during the Catacombs Quest have unique sprites courtesy of Drawingbox.
    • A new option on the party menu allows you to send any pokemon back to your PC.
    • The icon representing the sleep status is now somewhat purple, to help differentiate it from the grey pokemon data boxes.

1.10 is out and ready for download! We've got a good bit of new content out. Here are some of the highlights.

For content, Whitebloom Town has a new event that continues the plot. You can find it on the now traversable cliffside. Additionally, the Sandstone Estuary has been added as a new late game route. With its inclusion, you can now traverse the entirety of the Eleig River -- from its origin to where it meets the ocean. Lastly, Level Cap increases are spread out a bit more. Instead of being tied to Gyms Badges, level cap increases are now tied to using the Battle Report which are given after beating a gym leader or major story battle.

For mechanical changes, using the same move multiple times in a row will triple PP use. This is an experimental battle change that we'd love to hear feedback on! Some avatar fights will now have three phases, and will use multiple primeval moves. This change will make these fights feel a bit more dynamic.

We've also made our first massive push towards a new goal: a signature move or ability for every Pokémon line in the game! This patch introduces the first batch, 17 new abilities and 31 new moves. To help this change along, we've introduced some UI elements in the PokeDex to help you find them.

You can view all of these changes and more in the 1.10.0 changelog, which also hosts the list of all the new moves and abilities we've added! https://docs.google.com/document/d/1J-6LzjlkCHmqQBiLNTKYIIQPDuowfeCs2HlHoxvpi-o/edit#

Beta is approaching, so we've decided to finalize our name. Going forwards we're going to be Pokémon Tectonic. We'll update our graphics and threads as time goes on to reflect the change. Our title screen will be updated as well once we get 1.11 out.
