Hello everyone. I was just wondering if anyone had a quick way to fix substitute sprites not appearing or the player's pokemon sprite being deleted when using substitute.
Anyhow, the enemy battler uses substitute and the guy goes blank. The enemy battler then reappears after using some moves, but the substitute is still there. If the player uses substitute, just nothing shows, and if the player tries to use a move, an error gets thrown for no sprite.

That said, I'm wondering if anyone had this issue and solved it without doing a revamp of the battle system (I saw the new Animated Battle plugin has its own substitute stuff- I'm fine with some jank, I just don't want to have to rehaul everything at this point). I saw in previous versions that players could put substitute and substitute_back in the Battlers folder, but putting those sprites there doesn't work. For reference, I'm using the Gen 8 Move Animation Project + Pokemon Essentials v. 20.
Anyhow, thanks for reading.
