Game Jam Winter Game Jam 4: Recruitment

Initially, I thought nobody would be interested, but I ended up getting a couple of pms while I was asleep. Thank you for the nice messages! This thread really works, so please don't hesitate to post your own listing and/or get into contact with people!!!

Completed Holly goes to the F*cking Lake

Beat the game in just under an hour. I had a great time, esp for such a small game! The game looks great considering the time constraints. The critique below ignores those time constraints, it's more of an "if you'd spend more time on this you could do X" kind of thing.

Completed Don't Go, Pikachu! (For Android & Windows)

We've started development on the new version of Ulix Dexflow (and a new post-jam version of DGPikachu using this new engine version), which includes some big changes inspired by what we've learned from developing DGPikachu! In the meantime, however, we've made a big bugfix patch (v1.12) fixing...

I'm back from my vacation and we've made a small patch that fixes some instability issues and adds an arrow indicator to help people out on these interfaces! Thank you everybody for reporting these issues so we can make the game more enjoyable :)

Am I allowed to use Essentials data for an external project?

Ulix Dexflow uses Essentials PBS data and images. I had a small discussion about this a year or so ago and in the end the easiest solution was to just credit the whole thing :)

Completed Don't Go, Pikachu! (For Android & Windows)

Sorry for all the final updates, but we've fixed some more bugs found by people playing the game, including Teem and Tomix9tomix. We've fixed battlers sometimes going invisible, some tile errors, and the confusion move incorrectly being able to roll status effect prefixes. This'll be the last...

Completed Don't Go, Pikachu! (For Android & Windows)

After a lot of testing we managed to get the game running on a range of previously unsupported hardware, including Intel Integrated Graphics. :) Version 1.08 contains these fixes plus some additional small fixes to the game itself. Happy chasing Pikachu!

What's your most ambitious idea for your fangame you fear Essentials might not be able to do?

Check out Dexflow and the game we made with it for the jam, while not completely the same it might scratch that itch you got for those battles. :)

Completed Don't Go, Pikachu! (For Android & Windows)

We've just updated Don't Go, Pikachu! to version v1.06, fixing a whole array of bugs and crashes. Happy chasing Pikachu! EDIT 12th of August: We've figured out why the game didn't work for some people on AMD hardware. Version 1.07 should work if combined with the latest AMD driver (the Optional...

Discussion I want to get serious about game development

Building the systems properly from the ground up will take a ghastly amount of time, especially if you don't have a solid background in programming. The frameworks that people use for making their (fan)games required years of development. There are quite some resources available online that go...
