This game is not a romhack. It does not require an emulator to play unless you're trying to play on a mobile phone. In that case, you need Joiplay.

Yes and no. The game is doing a big overhaul so saves from the current version will be incompatible. However, we will be debugging saves for those who aren't interested in replaying, restoring progress to the best of our ability.

Not sure if I just missed this somehow but would it be possible to add a reset EVs option in the statue menu? Having to readjust every EV stat to 0 whenever I'm trying to do a build change can get a bit tedious.

It is not in your Pokemon Castaway folder. It would be This PC>Users>Username>Saved Games most likely

You can find it in your saved games folder on your PC. Should be in a folder called Pokemon Castaway

Alright, so, you're actually not softlocked. There's a staircase at the top-left of the basement that takes you up to a higher level. If you keep going up, you'll find your rival and the story can continue from there.
